The ECMS Communications Centre Module handles four distinct types of communications: News, BLOG's, Forums & Discussion Groups, and User to User Private Messaging. In all cases the module employes a fully threaded messaging system allowing you to manage the entire history of a conversation or its responses at one time.
The News system allows you manage the news on your own site, but you can also allow others to display your headlines on their sites using the integraded RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed generator. The most notable use of this technology is by everyday users using “Personal Home Page” systems such as Microsoft Windows Live®, My Yahoo®, and My AOL®, where they can build a personalized news page easily by adding these RSS feeds. Instead of only visiting your site on an infrequent basis, the use of an RSS feed would put your content in front of those users in some cases multiple times in one day, greatly increasing repetition of your message.
Short for “Web Log”, Blog's are used for commentary, relations, or simply to provide updates, and in all cases the Blogging system is an essential tool. It allows you to relate on a more personal level giving users a closer connection to both you and your website. With management features such as allowing responses and replys to posts, re-organization tools, post tagging for greater searchability, categorizing and even multi blog posts, this tool is sure to become an essential part of your communications strategy.
Public involvement in your site can be increased massivly given the opportunity to get involved in discusssions. The Forums system is fully structured, threaded, and moderated, with the capability of creating multiple category tiers to help organize discussions and topics. Let people learn from others' questions, and reduce the number of times a question needs to be asked by allowing everyone the ability to search through past discussions.
Many customizable features such as forum subscriptions, email notifications, response and reply control, and even formatting tools make this one of the most used features of the module and any site utilizing it.
Each of the 3 other systems in this module provide individual users interaction on a more public stage, whereas this system allows users to communicate with other users privately. Individual threaded messages allow users to respond and reply giving with the full history of their discussion available for reference, in a completely secure and private format.
