From the ground up eCommunities Management System (ECMS) has been developed to prove it is possible to provide a solution that can be both technically superior and feature rich, and still remain accessible to all people with all levels of experience.
ECMS utilizes a standards based approach to its data collection and storage so that regardless of the application, the information available within the system will always be portable and fully compatible. Where applicable, specific standards are referenced in each of the ECMS Module descriptions.
The ECMS Core is the heart of every solution, but it was built with growth and expansion in mind. Therefore a long list of modules are available to fulfil any need. Modules can be selected individually which limits software bloat, where an application becomes unusable simply because of its complexity. This approach also allows us to keep project costs downsince modules can be developed in less time and at less expense than a traditional fully custom solution.
ECMS is capable of scaling with your business and your visitors transparently, simple enough for a “one man show” but capable enough for a team of content managers to oversee a compliment of thousands of pages.
Both the ECMS Core and its Modules can be upgraded or expanded upon at any time in a site's life cycle.
eCommunities recognizes that in a corporate environment the seemingly random releases of upgrades and patches for a software package can pose a challenge in logistics and long term planning so we have established a regular release schedule.
Patches and service updates (i.e. 1.0.12 to 1.0.13) are released typically once per month when necessary, and minor releases (i.e. 1.0 to 1.1) on a quarterly basis. Major releases (i.e. 1.0 to 2.0) will on average come every 2-3 years.
